Here are some free resources you can use to help you modify templates, market your website and so forth

HTML/CSS

KompoZer is a web site management and editor program that’s easy to use, even for non-technical computer users who do know much about HTML, CSS or other web code

W3Schools is one of the oldest and best web programming tutorial sites on the Internet. If you need to learn the basics, this is a great place to start.

WordPress

Here’s where to start when looking for help with WordPress: WordPress.org Support

If you want video support for WordPress, make sure you search YouTube for tutorial videos. You’ll find several good ones there.

Graphics

GIMP, which stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program), is a free graphics editor program. It can be used for photo manipulation, combining multiple images, converting graphics files between different image formats and creating basic images.

FTP

Filezilla is a free FTP program that allows you to upload files to your hosts. The interface is very similar to Windows Explorer and its site manager section is very handy for managing a large number of sites.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

When you need to know how to get your site seen in Google, go visit my friend Griz at Make Money Online for Beginners. Allyn Hane of Blogger Illustrated is putting together a nice set of link building videos on his site.
